Do any of the parents have a concern about using a travel agency that is cash-only? Chris is in Brasil and the Rotary offers several side trips using a travel agency that does not take credit cards. I do not have a problem with the travel agency per se (which is why I am not naming it), but I am a bit reluctant to spend thousands of dollars on a trip without the protections accorded to people who use a credit card like American Express. When I asked about it, the agency said that they "had bad experiences with credit cards in the past" and now only take cash or wire transfers.
Have any other parents run into this issue? Am I being a cynical American?
